1) Do noisy storms scare you?
Nope! I love thunderstorms . . . the noisier, the better!
2) Mother Winters tells us Lena Horne was considered one of the great beauties of the 1940s. Whom do you consider one of today's most beautiful women?
Julia Roberts.
3) Crazy Sam admits it -- there's a big bag of recycling she really should take out to the bin. Yet she's composing this meme. What should you be doing, instead of answering her questions?
Not much, actually. I think there still may be a load of clothes in the dryer that need to be folded, and God knows the kitchen needs to be tidied, but it can wait. Besides . . . my 14-yo is currently asleep with her head on my lap. I ain't moving for love or money right now!
4) Sam may be crazy, but she's not stupid and will never waste her money on Cialis, no matter how many unsolicited emails she receives! What's the most recent addition to your spam folder?
"Find out who's running background checks on you!"
5) What was the last thing you cooked?
I heated up a bowl of soup for myself earlier . . . does that count?
6) Do you remember the lyrics to your high school fight song? If so, please share a bit.
Hell, I was in the band, for Pete's sake! I played the fight song, I didn't sing it! It's called "Coughlin Crusaders"; it's the same tune as the Official March of the United States Coast Guard, "Semper Paratus". I only know that first line of the chorus: "Coughlin Crusaders is our name!" I do remember all three verses & the chorus to my Alma Mater, though!
7) "Samantha" is the feminine of "Samuel" and means "Listener." What's the derivation of your first name?
The name "Kelly", of Irish origin, means "brave warrior". The name "Kelly", of English origin, means "bright headed". The name "Kelly", of Mom origin, means "you now have no life, no freedom, no sanity, no peace, no quiet, and no hope for any of those things in the foreseeable future".
8) Are you following the NBA or NHL this year? If so, which team are you rooting for?
We don't get sports channels on my television . . . or, at least, that's what I tell my son. ;-)
9) Gloves, umbrellas, sunglasses, keys -- which of these do you misplace most often?
Sunglasses. No matter how carefully I try to keep track of them, I'm always losing them.

***Come play along over at Saturday 9! It'll be fun . . . I promise!***

That's so sweet that your girl is asleep on your lap.. I wouldn't move either.. My baby girl is 28 and married now.. I miss those days.. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was sweet! She was snoring like a chainsaw, but it was sweet, nonetheless. :-)
DeleteWhat an awesome post! Thanks for the laughs.
ReplyDelete:-) Thank you!
DeleteSpawn's head weighs the same as a bowling bowl and almost cripples me when he rests on my arm. Also he has a pointy chin, which is like a blade! But still, it's nice that an 11 year old boy, still wants to cuddle up to his mum.
ReplyDeleteOoh and I love thunderstorms! :)
I love when my boys get cuddly! But my boys are also skinny-ass little freaks, with hardly any meat on their bones, so cuddling with them is like cuddling with science-class skeletons. Still, I LOVE it when it happens, and I welcome any and all opportunities! (Especially since my older boy is 13, and I have no idea how long he'll continue to cuddle with me.)
DeleteHey, I was in the band too, maybe that's why I couldn't remember the words to the fight song.
ReplyDeleteThat's my story, and I'm sticking to it!
DeleteI know that we had a fight song, but I could only remember the alma mater. Great answer to #7.
ReplyDeleteThanks, BC!
DeleteI wish I could conveniently tell my kids that we don't get any sports channels, but there are only TWO channels I know on our tv. 250 and 260. The Disney Channel, and Disney Junior
ReplyDeleteI suck.
It's true.
Don't feel bad. I know my movie channels start at 501, and other than Nickelodeon (299), that's all I know!
DeleteThanks for visiting!
Making soup does indeed count! You turned on heat and had dishes to wash afterward. That fits my definition of cooking.
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't know about that. It was a Ramen cup (disposable) and I used my Keurig to supply the hot water.
DeleteThough, I did have to wash my spoon . . .
Def great answers to the questions. No matter how much the dishes need washed or clothes need done if I have one of my grandkiddies on my lap hugging me I'm not moving! These days are too precious, because the time will come when hugging and loving their mee maw will be uncool! :)
ReplyDeleteYep, I know! And from my darling 14-yo -- whom I affectionately call "Katie Kaboom" -- a cuddle is exceedingly rare! Oh, I get hugs on a regular basis, and she'll sit with me pretty often to watch TV . . . but a true cuddle?! Nope! Doesn't happen often, so I treasure it when it does. :-)
